So nice to see someone from my main squad in the anime (Hoshiguma). I also know who I'm building and maxing next XD Never thought I'd see the day when I'd want to build Franka, yet here I am, because the anime made her so damn lovable XD

Billy Bob • 1 year ago

Blacksteel = blackwater

John Juntone • 1 year ago

I would build her as well if only I didnt have 4 6 stars to build m3 and get modules on top

Byno • 1 year ago

I mean, personally, she's not a good operator, so wouldn't build her if you want to have someone useful. Then again, there are no bad operators, only bad Dokutahs. She's not good, but she's certainly not bad either

an4rchos • 1 year ago

She was lovely even in game, but the voice acting sure is do her justice!

Judgment526 • 1 year ago

A bit confused as to whom Talulah was addressing at the beginning when she said "Right, Talulah?" Does she have another personality, or is she not the true Talulah?

FBI • 1 year ago

It'll be in s2 if s2 ever happens xD

Leo Aestron • 1 year ago

Oh dear... game based anime often finds itself hard to get season 2.
But, I hope Azur Lane, Girls' Frontline and Arknights will get the continuation they deserve.

Erik • 1 year ago

Priconne was good enough to get 2 seasons...

Macpro • 1 year ago

True I really hope arknights get one too

jack layne • 1 year ago

if it does get a season 2 i hope they would invest in better animation and dialogue. a large portion of the dialogue feels dry even the playful and flirty ones feel dry. fight scenes not so great due to lesser animation quality and lacking choreography the story and plot is fine just needs better dialogue and personality

Deus The Great • 1 year ago

Give us spoiler please, FBI.

h_1995 • 1 year ago

You could say that she's possessed but simply said, there's another mind coexisting with hers, keeps 'guiding' her and at times even have full control seen momentarily in this episode. That thing used to have its own share of the city so it's not surprising that it wants to take it back

also, another spoiler, it's still alive. killing her would mean that thing will transfer to a new body. no one knows if it had planted the next host but just to be sure, she needs to stay alive

Geryuganshoop • 1 year ago

that is... damn heavy heavy af spoiler. like even in the game it's only by ch 7 before it got hinted iirc (ch 7 is like 2 season away from this season, by this pacing). but maybe they did that to put more layer into the story bcs tbh, ch 0-3 was really ass, like ass. it's too shallow

Anonymous User • 1 year ago

Yeah... I'm appreciating them taking their time to let us learn about the world at a moderate rate, but I am starting to get a little impatient. If feels like we're leading up to something big, but there's literally only 2 eps left. At this pace I don't think it'll be enough for people to want another season of this which would be a shame

Geryuganshoop • 1 year ago

it is a dilemma, first bcs ch 7-8 (ending of the Arc) store the biggest secret reveal and putting this, problem of a terrorism act on two city became something that's much larger, an international political problems. which imo is what one of Arknight main theme and appeal is about.

but cutting short of ch 4 and 6 (and maybe 5) to have quicker and longer play time on 7-8 gonne have a very detrimental effect to the characterization. mainly bcs ch 4 and 6 are where Doc character got fleshed out much much more and 6 being a monumental turning point, for Doc and Amiya, where their ideals and mental are challenged to the hardest trial.

if i gotta pick, ch 4 would be 2 eps, 5 also, 6 have 3 then 7 should be 3-4. 8 is 5 and that is cutting it by a lot. ch 8 is the longest and it follows 3 pov, and also got a very long flashback sequence too.

that's why i understand where they need to end it at ch 3, bcs it has one final boss. if it 12 eps they could end it in ch 5 where Chen begin to shine brightly

Anonymous User • 1 year ago

Hmm... I know nothing of what's to come so that is intriguing. And I do prefer proper pacing over rushed product, believe me. I just hope the next 2 eps are enough to get enough people talking for an continuation. As I'm aware this anime was done by the same studio that makes the cinematics for the game, so I'd imagine they'd need a decent amount of incentive to want to continue making this series

Geryuganshoop • 1 year ago

i was on the side that thinks it's too soon to have the anime now, not bcs the lack of content (main and sides combined could be 6-7 12eps season and a dozen or more movies) but the prep and experience on the studio sides. but even then i gotta stressed out Yostar pict have been working with AK since the starts they're like Ufotable for Typemoon stuff in familiatity with the IP (not in quality ofc), that's not something that millions of dollars could reproduce.

starting the anime from it's weakest point have such an apparent effects, only the players would enjoy it as the vast majority. but jumping into nearing climax as the starter then you'll loses tons and tons of exposition, which AK setting are not like the usual fantasy stuff where 95% can be dealt with existing templates. explaining Originium/Oripathy/Arts alone requires a thesis of it's own, exposition are crucial af if you don't want the generals gaping their mouth askinh wtf is going on.

but i do have tons of complain, i regard the 1st eps as near perfect overall (just lacking in fight scene intensity which a reoccurring problems), it captures the mood, severity and desperation completely. Yostar pict didn't lack in bg art (in fact they're one of the best in the industry now, they take part as bg art specialists on multiple other anime in recent yrs by now), their color gradinh and composition is on point. but then it fall flats in the intensity, they master themselves in using wide shot but fails to do a proper and constant quick tempo cut for any scene that requires brutality and intensity.

that baffles me when they understood the philosophy of "tragedy starts from the eyes and comedy starts from the legs" where they extensively use close shot to the eyes for conveying emotions. they need much more experience and sakuga or fluid animation, the usually goated by general publics when it comes to fight scene is not the main problems in AK, atleast for now bcs most of the time it's masses vs masses, not individual fight where it shine the most.

sorry for the rant if it looks like one. im torn between wanting to explain the lore for the non players and constantly complaining about the production. bcs even as a player there's so many rl info and reference you need to know to understand the lore and it's implications. like why no one uses guns other than the angels and how the crossbow in Terra are far far stronger then ours irl

Erik • 1 year ago

Yeah, FGO basically suffers the same scenario.

The first few parts (Singularity 1 to 5) are pretty bad, but starting from Camelot, Babylonia and the Temple of Time it gets really good. Even better in the singularities.

Anonymous User • 1 year ago

I agree with the lack of actual fights. Sure, there's a lot of skirmishes, but I can't recall a single fight with real fight choreography and screentime. They're all over within minutes or they run away. Strategically running is smart, but having that being the outcome of pretty much every encounter left me with something to be desired to say the least. I'm aware they're not that big a studio. They've only been working on short animations until this project so they'll need more manpower if they want to keep this up imo. You helped answer a lot of questions I had regarding this anime, so thanks for your rant lol

Geryuganshoop • 1 year ago

yeah only when we hit ch 5 that there's going to be a real serious one vs one or one vs many. and trust me, as someone who whales on this game there's nothing more i want than a perfect fit adaptation, atleast something that's stay true and can convey the impeccable story, world building and atmosphere it has. for 3+ yrs AK have been living rent free on my head bcs i know it would be such a masterpiece if done correctly, plus if we got Starset, Lowroar and all the fcking banger ost in the game (Dawnseeker, Blade, Pine Soot, doubledragon, etc, pls do check this title out in yt if you got time).

and ofc ask me anything you want to know about the lore or other details, anything that i can answer that is

Byno • 1 year ago

Ahhhh, so I was right, it was Talulah that said that, not Crownslayer XD I couldn't tell who said it, but yeah, if it was Talulah that said it, then it's huge spoiler territory to answer anything regarding that

Swire best girl • 1 year ago

It’s a spoiler for some later in game stuff. Probably won’t be in the anime. Also snakes are cute

Divenmal • 1 year ago

Care to spoil me a little? I really wanna know.

Geryuganshoop • 1 year ago

Talulah were "possesed" by an idea, an idea thats living and could take shape. it's called the deathless black snake or Koschei (it's a russian mythology inspired just searh Koschei). why i put quotation mark there? bcs this is not a possession but kinda like revelation, Talulah have to agree at one point to this "idea" willingly before Koschei's influence could take hold. and even by then she still have some controls. this idea took over her roughly 5 yrs before the event in the anime which is on the year 1097

JS Lee • 1 year ago

long story short that voice is mind controlling talulah

Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

I wondering about that too

Brainwashed Flare • 1 year ago

SPOILER AHEAD

In chap 8, it's revealed that Tallulah is indeed possessed by Koschey, an ageless being that can possessed another person. Since then, he used Tallulah body and influence on Reunion to accomplish his own agenda.

Geryuganshoop • 1 year ago

now now damn that opening scene, are they really going to tease it that early?? well i don't remember much all the dialogue in ch 2-3 so maybe it's really there (don't ask me if you're an anime only).

fyi Hoshiguma is 190cm, i don't think her intro scene there do justice on that fact, she should be towering Doc and the rest of the cast. and she's from Higashi, the "japan" nation of Terra which literally just translated into Far East. it's one of the most anticipated nation story in AK bcs of the political situation are a mix of the Nanbokucho period (South and North Court, basically it has two standing governing body) and Edo period iirc. Lady Fumizuki, Wei's wife are also from there and one of the princess in of it's court.

the story takes a slow one this past episode bcs ch 2 are a further exposition and laying groundwork for future chap, eps 7-8 should be the climax for this phase since it's ch 3.

i got lots of complain overall from the lack of "speed" presented by slow shot to shot tempo and the few numbers of quick shot. and also how severely lacking the impact is on multiple scene which definitely need that, like W throwing grenades and exploding stuff, while some of the arrow shot got a really good impact management from the cut, shot angle to on point sfx uses.

but ofc im not all complain, as I've said before Yostar had managed to capture the most important aspects of AK in this adaptation other than ofc story, which is the atmosphere. Yostar are among the vest in the industry when it came to background art (they are on multiple projects for that since 2 yrs ago) which atmosphere relies a lot. their sfx on breathing is also fcking goood, like it's just very apparent and heavy. but they lacking in experience for high intensity scene mainly for quick tempo one, hopefully the next season if there exists they would improve on that.

and my favorite shot in this eps surprisingly are when the Reunions running down the street shot from on top of the building by Amiya pov, that fluidity is so satisfying to look at

Billy Bob • 1 year ago

Kind of like Black Hawk Down and the Somalis

Geryuganshoop • 1 year ago

yeah that's definitely it. if they could capture the scene more tightly and show how the whole slums could be their enemies it would be much more claustrophobic, intense and brutal. like entering the favelas as a police men

Azureink • 1 year ago

So a little over 6'2". She is about my height.

Vlad • 1 year ago

Then she's as tall as the tallest woman I've seen IRL. On high heels she was as tall as me. It was really weird seeing a woman like that... I'm so used to look down, if not make myself small to talk to women.

Geryuganshoop • 1 year ago

there's quite the number of tall ladies in this game tho Hoshi is the tallest, but there's an npc lady with 2m height. my favorite is Gladiia at 185 tho you won't be seeing her in the main story

Vlad • 1 year ago

I wish there were tall ladies IRL...

Vlad • 1 year ago

Of the ones we've seen thus far, who is waifu?
From what I've seen until now, it's Franka, the fox, though Kalsit (Lynx?) looks interesting...

Byno • 1 year ago

Fun Fact about the game: Kal'tsit was introduced and playable at the start of the game, but they removed her because she was too OP. Now they reintroduced her as a playable operator again, and from what I've heard, they haven't changed her kit one bit XD

Vlad • 1 year ago

Wow. I'd be so pissed if I lose my character in a Gatcha game...

Mono • 1 year ago

As far as i am aware Kalsit was only ever usable in the Beta of Arknights. The offical version later on the anniversary event dropped her as an Operator.
But before that she was never offically released.

Byno • 1 year ago

Ah right, I got confused. But yeah, she was playable in the beta I think

Mono • 1 year ago

Hilarious enough Beta version was already broken enough & they literally buffed her true dmg on the third skill. I think there should be images out there her Beta Art & Monsters was also somewhat different. The Arknights wiki should have it.

MaropSKi • 1 year ago

When all hope is lost i just pick Kal'tsit, W and Surtr and just brute force my way through a mission

Vouivre • 1 year ago

You mistyped blue haired women

YowaiSenshi • 1 year ago

do you mean the squirt gun which can defeat godly beings and strongest warriors?

Jibril • 1 year ago

They changed it to be more OP

Byno • 1 year ago

Wait really? lmfao

Akira Shirahara • 1 year ago

Franka definitely makes the most memorable waifu in this current Arknights season, truly love how she interacted with other casts.

You'll get to love Kal'tsit more once you try to read one of her event story...
